2026 Series To Be Posted

The Glocester Recreation Department is pleased to present the 2025 Summer Concert Series, featuring six exciting Wednesday evening performances at the Kent Field Pavilion. Each 90-minute concert begins at 6:30 PM and offers residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy live music in a beautiful outdoor setting.

This year's diverse lineup spans multiple genres, including 80's hits, blues, country, and folk music, ensuring there's something for every musical taste throughout the summer. All concerts are free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for comfortable seating.

In the event of inclement weather, rain postponement information will be posted on the Glocester Recreation Facebook page.

FOURTH OF JULY ROAD RACE  July 4

The Glocester Fourth of July Road Race takes place annually on the morning of July 4th, starting and finishing at Chepachet Union Church. Participants can choose between a 1.8-mile or 5.5-mile race, open to both residents and non-residents, along with special races for children under 12. Registration includes official timing, and T-shirts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Online registration opens each summer.

STEPS & STRIDES FITNESS CLUB  June 22 - August 24

The Steps & Strides Fitness Club begins Monday, June 22, 6:30 PM, and runs weekly for ten weeks. Presented in collaboration with the Senior Sentinel Striders Run Club, this free program invites participants ages 15+ of varying  fitness levels to walk, jog, or run their way to fitness. Participants will meet at the Glocester Senior Center and can choose from several different loops through historic Chepachet Village. Water will be available, and everyone should wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

YOUTH BASKETBALL CLINIC  July 21-23

The Glocester Youth Basketball Clinic runs July 21 - July 23 at Glocester Memorial Park. This free clinic is open to Glocester residents ages 6 to 12, offering an opportunity to build skills, run and enjoy casual scrimmages. The daily schedule is split by age group: Child lessons for participants ages 6 to 9 will begin at 5:30 PM, followed immediately by Youth lessons for participants ages 10 to 12 starting at 6:15 PM. Players should arrive wearing comfortable athletic clothing and sneakers or cleats, and they should bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. While daily attendance is entirely flexible to accommodate busy summer schedules, overall registration is limited, so be sure to secure your child's spot early!

The Glocester Youth Flag Football Clinic runs July 7 - July 9 at Glocester Memorial Park. This free clinic is open to Glocester residents ages 6 to 12, offering an opportunity to build skills, run and enjoy casual scrimmages. The daily schedule is split by age group: Child lessons for participants ages 6 to 9 will begin at 5:30 PM, followed immediately by Youth lessons for participants ages 10 to 12 starting at 6:15 PM. YOUTH MOUNTAIN BIKING CLUB  June 27 - August 1

All riders ages 8 and up are invited to join us for the Glocester Mountain Biking Club, starting Saturday, June 27th at 9:00 AM at Heritage Park. This free six-week program teaches the fundamentals of mountain biking in a fun, supportive setting. Riders will develop trail skills, bike handling techniques, and learn basic safety with guidance from a qualified instructor. First-time participants should arrive 30 minutes early for a complimentary bike inspection and tune-up. Helmets are required for all riders. Participants should wear athletic clothing and sturdy footwear. Water will be available, but riders are encouraged to bring their own bottles.

YOUTH SUMMER RUNNING CLUB  June 23 - July 30

Youth Summer Running Club begins Tuesday, June 23 and meets Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 AM at the Ponaganset High School track. Open to athletes entering grades 5–7, this six-week program includes drills, conditioning, and supplemental training. Runners should bring a water bottle, wear athletic gear, and be ready for a good workout. A workout plan will be provided for off-days.

YOUTH SWIM LESSONS  June 22 - July 31

All swim lessons will take place at the Spring Grove Waterfront. Swim lessons begin Monday, June 23 and run Monday through Friday for six weeks, ending August 1. This program is open to Glocester residents ages 3–13 for a $1 fee collected at the first session. Children should bring a bathing suit and towel. We ask that children in Tiny Tots through Level 3 refrain from wearing goggles. Attendance is flexible and participants can come as often as your schedule allows!  Please note: Lessons will not be offered at Marion Irons.

YOUTH TENNIS LESSONS  June 22 - July 31

Tennis lessons run Monday through Friday for six weeks, starting June 22 and ending July 31 with a closing ceremony. This free program is open to Glocester children ages 5–17. Participants should bring a tennis racket, water bottle, hat, and wear appropriate athletic clothing and sneakers. Attendance is flexible and groups/times will be assigned via email.

YOUTH TRACK & FIELD NIGHT  June 23

Join us for our Youth Track & Field Night on Tuesday, June 23 at the Ponaganset High School Track & Field Complex. Day-of registration and field events begin at 5:30 PM, with running events at 6:00 PM. Children ages 2–12 will rotate through fun, age-appropriate track and field stations like sprints, throws, and long jump. Participants should wear sneakers, bring a water bottle, and come ready to run and play!
