GLOCESTER POLICE DEPARTMENT PART-TIME PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER POSTED JULY 16, 2025 2 consecutive days a week (rotating schedule) on second shift. Based in Glocester, RI.
What you’ll be doing:
- Answering emergency & routine calls
- Dispatching police and fire services
- Greeting the public
- Handling data entry, filing, and general clerical work
What we’re looking for:
- Calm under pressure and able to multi-task
- Comfortable using computers and dispatch systems
- Prior dispatch experience (police/fire) is a big plus!
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Pass a background check + fingerprinting
- Able to do some light physical activity
- Willing to complete on-the-job training

TOWN OF GLOCESTER DRIVER/LABORER I POSTED July 16, 2025 The Town of Glocester seeks a qualified individual for the position of Driver/Laborer I. The position requires an individual to perform a variety of manual tasks to maintain and support the facilities and infrastructure of the Town. The position requires 24/7 availability for winter months and for any other emergencies that may develop. A Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire date is required. Dependability, a desire to learn to operate department equipment, and the ability to communicate courteously and professionally are qualities that will be important. This individual will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Applications will be accepted until July 23, 2025.
PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICER The Town of Glocester is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of probationary police officer. Recruits will be expected to attend the July/August 2025 academy.
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years of age, and possess a valid driver’s license. Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED certificate. Applicants must meet medical, physical and psychological standards and must pass an extensive background investigation.
